Privacy notice
In short
- We use your details to score your website, build your free redesign, and — if you go ahead — build your new website.
- We never sell your data. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies.
- Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time: help@versimple.com.
1. Who we are
Versimple (versimple.com) is a brand of Growth Engine Ops, run by Darren McGuire as a sole trader in England. When these pages say “we”, “us” or “Versimple”, they mean Growth Engine Ops.

Growth Engine Ops is the data controller for the personal information described here. This notice covers Versimple. Growth Engine Ops’ other services are covered by its own privacy policy.
2. What we collect and why

We only send you marketing messages if you’ve agreed to them. Messages about the report, redesign or website you’ve asked for aren’t marketing.
3. The redesign gallery
Finished redesigns may appear in the public gallery on versimple.com once we’ve checked them. The gallery shows the website address and the redesign — never your name, email, reactions or comments. You can keep yours out with the tick-box on your redesign page, or email us at any time and we’ll take it down.
4. AI and automatic scoring
Your score, report, redesign and designer’s notes are produced automatically, partly using AI, from the public content of the website you scanned. They are an assessment of a website, not a decision about you. A person reviews every project before we build anything.
5. Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only with the companies that help us run Versimple, and only what each one needs:

We may also share information with our accountant, legal and insurance advisers where needed, and with regulators or law enforcement where the law requires it.
Some of these companies process data outside the UK, for example in the USA. Where they do, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations (including the UK–US data bridge) or by the UK’s approved contract terms for international transfers.
6. How long we keep it

7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the data we hold about you;
- correct anything that’s wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data (we will, except records we must keep by law, such as payment records);
- limit how we use it, or stop using it where we rely on legitimate interests;
- send your data to you, or someone else, in a common format.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time — it doesn’t affect what we did before. Email help@versimple.com from the address you used with Versimple. We’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
8. Cookies and browser storage
Versimple doesn’t use advertising or analytics cookies. Our pages save your progress in your own browser (for example, which designer’s notes you’ve already seen). That storage is needed for the service you’re using, and you can clear it by clearing this site’s data in your browser. Our hosting company may set a strictly necessary security cookie. When you pay, you’re taken to Stripe’s secure payment page, which uses Stripe’s own cookies to prevent fraud — see Stripe’s privacy policy.
9. Keeping it safe
Your data is stored with Cloudflare and protected by encryption in transit, access controls and sign-in checks on our admin tools. No online system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you and the ICO if a breach puts you at risk.
